Description

PZ The Zone is a technical indicator that implements the concept of the Trading Zone as taught by Bill Williams. It aims to identify optimal conditions for entering or adding to positions during strong trending phases. The indicator does this by evaluating three market components: momentum, acceleration, and price alignment.

Signals are displayed in a straightforward visual format:

  • A blue arrow indicates a buy signal.
  • A red arrow indicates a sell signal.

These signals occur only when all conditions for a "trading zone" are met, ensuring traders are entering during periods of confirmed directional movement. The indicator is reactive, meaning it waits for price confirmation before triggering signals. This makes it ideal for traders looking to join trends safely or scale into winning positions.

Internally, the indicator uses several components from the Bill Williams trading system:

  • Alligator indicator is used to detect the presence of a strong trend.
  • Accelerator Oscillator (AC) and Awesome Oscillator (AO) are used to confirm the presence of trading zones.
  • MACD is applied as a filter to avoid signals during exhausted or low-quality trends.

The indicator is deterministic and does not repaint. Once a signal is printed, it stays on the chart. It also includes a complete alert system with support for on-screen alerts, sounds, email notifications, and push alerts.
